Born with a Silver Spoon

With the new royal brother or sister for HRH Prince George due any day now, we can’t help but wonder what it would be like to be born into a life of wealth and privilege. Would any parent really want their baby to be born with the ultimate silver spoon? Is the opportunity to travel the world more appealing than playdates in the park?

To try and answer that question, Sudocrem Care & Protect have been asking parents what they think are the advantages and disadvantages of being born with a “silver spoon”.

Most parents felt the greatest advantage of being born into royalty would be the chance to use their power and influence to make a difference to others. And the biggest disadvantage? That would be the lack of privacy and spontaneity –we hope the new little royal has a soft spot for the paparazzi.

Unsurprisingly, swapping an everyday life for fame and fortune just isn’t that popular. What turned out to matter most is being part of a loving and protective family.

“When you’re a parent it’s hard not to feel competitive. But making things better usually means providing a reassuring hug and as they get older being around to listen, it isn’t about lots of toys or exotic holidays. It’s about being there when they need you”, says Nick Lang, Senior Brand Manager for Sudocrem.

100 Silver Spoon Giveaways

But all this doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the finer things in life every now and again. In this spirit, Sudocrem have enlisted silversmith Christopher Hamilton to design a solid silver spoon, which will be offered to 100 babies born in the same month as Will and Kate’s new baby.

Each spoon is handcrafted in solid silver, engraved with the baby’s initials and delivered in a lined black box with a card of authentication.

“Not every baby is born with a silver spoon but every baby is special and it’s our way of saying that”, says Nick Lang, Senior Brand Manager for Sudocrem.

To be in with the chance of receiving one of the Sudocrem Care & Silver spoons, simply email your name and address along with your baby’s initials and date of birth to Winners will be drawn on 30/05/15 and selected at random.
